About SCORE
The SCORE Association, with headquarters in
Washington, DC, is a nonprofit association dedicated to entrepreneurial
education and the formation, growth and success of small businesses
nationwide. Our public service mission is to provide face-to-face and email
business counseling to help small businesses evaluate plans, stabilize, grow,
innovate and succeed. SCORE is a
resource partner with the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA).
SCORE has 389 chapters in locations throughout the
United States and its territories, with 10,500 volunteers nationwide. Local
chapters provide free counseling and low-cost workshops in their communities.
Both working and retired executives and business owners donate their time and
expertise as business counselors. SCORE was founded in 1964.
Some volunteers have spent years cultivating their
own small business. Others rose to managers at larger businesses. Some worked
for the Federal government while some also served in our military forces.
